Colin Trehearne
Colin is a UK- and Canada-qualified international arbitration specialist at Mori Hamada & Matsumoto with substantial experience in international commercial arbitration across diverse sectors including mining, energy, pharmaceuticals, technology, insurance, and space tourism. Colin also has public international law experience and has advised on WTO matters, territorial disputes, self-determination, and the law applicable to UN bodies. He is a former associate professor at Keio University and current professor at Sophia University lecturing on dispute resolution, MNC regulation, and international law. Colin previously practiced law in Canada (Dentons Canada), Japan (Herbert Smith Freehills), and England (at Boies Schiller Flexner), having returned to Tokyo in 2022.
