About Atsushi Sato

Atsushi Sato focuses his practice primarily on patent prosecution, patent litigation, and patent-related trials before the Japan Patent Office. He has handled numerous patent infringement litigations involving a wide variety of technologies – such as semiconductor devices, electromechanical components, LEDs, software and medical devices – for both domestic and foreign clients. He utilises his intensive experience in this area to provide effective representation to clients in patent licensing negotiations. Mr Sato heads TMI’s Silicon Valley office, supporting US law firms and companies that need legal assistance on patent disputes, prosecutions and transactions in Japan. He also supports Japanese companies in US patent litigations, collaborating with US law firms.
