is an associate in KISCH IP’s trade mark department who holds an LLB degree and an LLM in IP from the University of Johannesburg. Her focus ranges from trade mark prosecution – specifically, trade mark searching – to litigation focusing on trade mark infringements, unlawful competition and copyright litigation throughout Africa. Shaawn’s knowledge extends to copyright advice and registration, advising clients on various aspects of copyrights, including ownership and licensing. She has worked for a South African government entity on copyright-related agreements that dealt with the regulation of copyright rights and associated obligations on employees. Shaawn’s additional expertise includes advertising disputes and compliance, domain name disputes and company name objections.
