About Melissa Sawyer

Melissa Sawyer is the global head of Sullivan & Cromwell’s M&A group and co-head of the firm’s corporate governance and activism practice. In addition to advising clients on governance, activism and takeover defence matters, she also regularly advises on public and private M&A transactions, joint ventures and strategic alliances. Her experience spans multiple industries, including consumer and retail, industrial, medtech and insurance. Melissa has been recognised for her expertise. She is currently an adviser on the American Law Institute’s Corporate Governance Restatement project.
