About Alain Ranger

Alain Ranger was tax practice group leader at Fasken between 2006 and 2014. His practice areas include: mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions (USA, Europe), corporate restructurings (including spin-offs and liquidations of public corporations), foreign investments, development and implementation of structured financing of assets, projects and infrastructures (eg, windmills, hydroelectric facility), financial instruments and derivatives and corporate tax planning. Alain is actively involved with the Taxes Committee of the International Bar Association where he has served as an officer for over 12 years, culminating with the co-chair position in 2016 and 2017; he is a member and former governor (2000-2003) of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
