About John Buckley Jr

John Buckley Jr is senior counsel with Williams & Connolly LLP. He founded, and led, the firm’s International Arbitration Practice Group. A Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators as well as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, he focuses his practice on serving as arbitrator in domestic and international disputes. He is listed on numerous arbitrator rosters, including the American Arbitration Association, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), and the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR). Mr Buckley has consistently been named in Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Experts in Commercial Arbitration. He earned his AB, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Georgetown University and his JD, with honours, from The University of Chicago, where he was Editor-in-Chief of The University of Chicago Law Review. Before joining Williams & Connolly, he was a law clerk to US Supreme Court Justice Lewis F Powell, Jr.
