She has over 25 years of experience as an energy lawyer in both the public and private sectors, including four years as counsel to the National Energy Board. Helen has acted as counsel to some of North America’s leading developers of energy projects, including Enbridge Inc., MidAmerican Transmission, Renewable Energy Systems and Capital Power, in connection with the development, acquisition and disposition of power generation and electricity transmission and distribution projects. She has also acted for large Canadian and US financial institutions in connection with the provision of credit facilities to energy projects. Helen has specific expertise in the areas of energy project agreements, regulatory approvals, environmental assessments and permitting and Aboriginal consultation. She has contributed to several industry publications and has given a number of presentations.
