About Marc Richard

Marc Richard is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office and leads the firm’s Canada Life Sciences Group, signalling senior standing and leadership. Called to the Ontario Bar in 2004, he combines scientific credentials (biochemistry, molecular biology, virology) with legal expertise in intellectual property, patents, licensing, regulatory strategy and patent litigation, including cases under the Notice of Compliance regime. He regularly appears before all levels of court in Canada. He has lectured in patent law, volunteers through Pro Bono Law Ontario, and is active in the legal/IP community. He is a member of the Ontario Bar and is recognised among IP rankings.
