About Robert Sheahan

Robert Sheahan is a senior partner at Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, called to the Ontario bar in 2002, marking over two decades of career advancement. He served as Head of the Advocacy Department from 2020 to 2025 during which time he also sat on the Ottawa Office Management Committee. A Law Society-certified specialist in health law, he focuses on health law litigation, including medical negligence and solicitors’ negligence, he is regularly recognised in Chambers Canada in Healthcare Law. His professional affiliations include honorary membership on the National Health Law Section, Executive of the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society, the International Bar Association, and the County of Carleton Law Association.
