About Joana Alves de Abreu

Joana Alves de Abreu is a consultant at Morais Leitão and a member of the corporate and M&A and capital markets team. Joana was a legal advisor to the secretary of state for energy during the XIX and XX constitutional governments and a lawyer at Entidade Reguladora dos Serviços Energéticos. Most of her work has been conducted in the area of energy law; Joana has taken part in M&A transactions and specialises in energy law regulation, in particular in the electricity and natural gas sectors. Joana was the winner of the Iberian Lawyer’s “40 under Forty Awards” (energy) in 2022.
