About Paula Bäckdén

Paula Bäckdén holds a PhD in maritime law and specialises in maritime and transport law, such as dispute resolution and commercial agreements, including litigation in civil court and arbitration, the sale and purchase of ships’ contracts, charter parties and management contracts. Paula has specialised knowledge of insurance law, assisting clients in insurance disputes, particularly within marine insurance. Shen is president of the Swedish Maritime Law Association and, as such, she is the Swedish representative in the GA of the Nordic Offshore and Maritime Arbitration Association. Paula has been appointed Dispascheur of Sweden, settling marine insurance disputes as well as general average disputes.
