He focuses on banking, finance and capital markets, as well as general corporate law, and regularly advises Swiss and foreign financial institutions on transactional and regulatory matters. He is often involved in M&A transactions and complex financings, where he advises both lenders and borrowers. He also regularly represents clients in licensing and enforcement proceedings before the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, FINMA. Rashid has published extensively and is an associate professor at the University of Geneva, where he teaches corporate law and financial markets regulation. He is a member of the executive committee of the Center for Banking and Financial Law and the editorial committee of the Swiss Business Law Review. He was appointed as an expert member of the working group of the Federal Department of Finance responsible for drafting the Federal Act of Financial Services (FIDLEG) and its implementing ordinance.
