About Rodrigo Formigal

Rodrigo Formigal co-heads Abreu Advogados’ banking and finance department, where he advises borrowers and lenders on all aspects of financing operations and on diverse areas of securities law, including financial intermediation and bond issues. Rodrigo has extensive experience in restructuring and trading distressed debt, real estate finance, and non-performing loan transactions – in addition to working on structured finance deals, including securities issues such as covered bonds, commercial paper programmes, high-yield bonds, and asset-backed transactions. He also offers ongoing support to collective investment undertakings. Rodrigo advises several institutions on regulatory compliance, including reporting legally required information to authorities. His expertise covers cross-border financial operations, compliance, and AML issues.
