James Longster is a partner in the technology and commercial transactions department at Travers Smith’s London office, where he specialises in technology, data protection and IP. James regularly advises on major technology acquisitions and implementations, IT outsourcings, software and system developments, and licensing issues – in addition to data breaches and the exploitation and monetisation of client data. James is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in Europe (CIPP/E), a member of the industry-wide GDPR Working Group for the Alternative Investment Management Association, part of TechUK’s Data Protection Group, and a member of iTechLaw and the Society for Computers and Law.
