About Lino de Ponte

Lino de Ponte is Deloitte’s director of global employer services and is based at the firm’s Johannesburg office. After obtaining his qualifications, he began his career at Bloch Gross & Associates, the pre-eminent immigration law firm in Pretoria. He joined Deloitte in January 2000 and has been instrumental in growing the firm’s immigration services team in South Africa and various jurisdictions throughout Africa. During the past 23 years, he has advised one of the Ministers of Home Affairs – not to mention the Presidency – on matters of immigration law policy. Lino primarily assists multinational organisations in an advisory capacity, as well as managing teams responsible for legal immigration compliance in Africa.
