About William Long

William Long is a partner at Sidley Austin LLP, where he leads the EU and UK data protection practice and is global co-leader of the firm’s highly ranked privacy and cybersecurity practice. William advises international clients on a wide variety of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), data protection, privacy, information security, social media, e-commerce and other regulatory matters. He has been a member of the European Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and on the DataGuidance panel of data protection lawyers. William is also on the editorial board of e-Health Law & Policy and assists with dplegal, which is a network for privacy professionals.
