About William Long

William Long is a partner at Sidley Austin LLP, where he leads the EU and UK data protection practice and is global co-leader of the firm’s highly ranked privacy and cybersecurity practice. William advises international clients on a wide variety of AI, cyber, and digital data laws, as well as data protection, privacy, information security, social media, e-commerce and other regulatory matters. He has been a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP)’s European Advisory Board and on the DataGuidance panel of data protection lawyers. William has also been on the editorial board of “e-Health Law & Policy” and assists with dplegal, a network for privacy professionals.
