About Gene Wasson

Gene Wasson is a partner and co-chair of the environmental practice group, having practised environmental law since graduating from law school in 1991. Gene represents clients in enforcement actions before state and federal authorities, including the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Justice and the United States Army Corps of Engineers involving all major state and federal environmental laws. In addition, his experience includes cost recovery under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act; citizen suit claims under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and the Clean Water Act; and common law claims related to environmental contamination, as well as environmental due diligence and contract negotiation. He is a member of the Section of Environment, Energy and Resources of the American Bar Association and co-chair of its Water Quality and Wetlands Committee, as well as being a member of the executive committee of the Section of Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Law of the Mississippi Bar. He is also a member of the Mississippi Chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association.
