About Tom Carey

Tom Carey is managing partner of Carey Olsen’s Guernsey office and partner in the corporate and finance group, having joined the firm in 2004. He specialises in private equity and capital markets transactions and advises clients on the structuring and establishment of closed-ended and open-ended collective investment schemes as well as their resulting downstream transactions and financings. He also advises on public and private mergers, acquisitions and schemes of arrangement ‒ predominantly in the financial services space. He is currently active in advising on deal-by-deal investment platforms utilising the blockchain. In 2023 he led the industry response to the proposed virtual asset legislation now in force in Guernsey.
