Luis de la Peña
is head of the regulatory team and is a partner in the corporate and M&A department. Luis is an expert in banking regulations, consumer finance, distance financial services, collective investment schemes, pension funds, investment services, private equity, payment services, e-money and all financial products and anti-money laundering-related regulatory aspects. He advises on disciplinary proceedings before the Bank of Spain, the Spanish National Securities Market Commission and the Enforcement Service of the Anti-Money Laundering and Monetary Infringements Commission. Luis is well known for designing landmark structures such as the first real estate private equity-like fund under a collective investment scheme umbrella incorporated in Spain (Altan Inmobiliario Global); the transformation of BBVA’s real estate open-end fund into a common non-regulated company and a significant number of Fintech projects. He represents Garrigues at the Collective Investment Schemes and Pension Funds Association, serves as an adviser to the Public Interest Oversight Board, and regularly contributes to specialised publications.
