Dr Werner Meier
is a finance and restructuring partner and heads the German restructuring practice of Simmons & Simmons, being based in the firm’s London and Frankfurt offices. He has more than 25 years of experience in German and European syndicated loans, high-yield bonds, securitisations and other structured finance transactions, debt and corporate restructurings, as well as M&A transactions involving private equity and strategic investors. His practice has included some of the largest finance transactions in history, such as the sovereign debt restructuring of the Hellenic Republic, which involved new loan facilities in an aggregate principal amount in excess of EUR206 billion. He has published numerous articles relating to the practice of banking and finance law and restructuring and insolvency.
