About Thomas Verheyen

Thomas Verheyen is a senior associate at Lydian and a member of the insurance and reinsurance team. He advises Belgian and international insurers and intermediaries on insurance regulation, distribution and coverage. Thomas represents insurers and insured parties before Belgian courts in coverage and liability disputes. He holds a PhD in Law from Ghent University and an LL.M. from Yale Law School. Alongside his practice, Thomas is affiliated with Ghent University, where he was professor of insurance law for three years, lecturing on insurance and liability. He is a member of the Brussels Bar and has published on insurance law, product liability, exoneration clauses and risk management.
