About Sergio García

Sergio García joined KPMG in 1997 and is a tax and legal partner. Previously, he worked at a local tax law firm, and was a professor of tax law and tax procedures. He is a member of the Costa Rican Bar Association, the Costa Rican Institute of Fiscal Studies, and the International Fiscal Association (Costa Rican chapter). Sergio has extensive experience advising companies on transactions, including with buying and selling businesses/companies, performing buyer due diligence, structuring purchase or sale strategies, integration of acquired businesses, and day-to-day operations. Among other qualifications, he holds a law degree from the University of Costa Rica and a Master’s in Finance from the Technological Institute of Costa Rica.
