About Bart Van Vooren

Bart Van Vooren is a partner in Covington & Burling LLP’s Brussels office. He has a broad regulatory practice under EU and national laws, advising pharmaceutical, food, biotech and device companies. His significant experience includes orphan medicines, advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), advertising, regulatory exclusivities and transparency issues. He has handled more than three dozen cases before the EU Court of Justice, and is a leading global expert on life sciences companies’ compliance with the Biodiversity Convention and the Nagoya Protocol. Bart regularly writes and speaks on life sciences issues, and has written several handbooks on EU law.
