About Richard Brown

Richard Brown is a partner at Carey Olsen, based in the BVI. His practice encompasses all aspects of BVI commercial disputes, with a focus on insolvency, fraud and asset recovery, shareholder disputes and arbitration-related matters. Richard has particular experience of obtaining interlocutory applications such as freezing injunctions and Norwich Pharmacal orders, often in support of foreign court proceedings or arbitrations. He is increasingly involved in disputes relating to digital assets, cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystems. Richard is a solicitor advocate and regularly appears in the BVI Commercial Court and Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal. He is a member of the Insolvency Lawyers Association, R3, INSOL, RISA, and the Commercial Fraud Lawyers Association.
