About Tom Carey

Tom Carey has been the managing partner of Carey Olsen’s Guernsey office since 2023 and is also a partner in the corporate and finance group. Tom specialises in private equity and capital markets transactions and advises clients on the structuring and establishment of closed-ended and open-ended collective investment schemes, as well as their resulting downstream transactions and financings. He also provides advice on public and private M&A and schemes of arrangement ‒ predominantly in the financial services space. Tom is currently active in advising on deal-by-deal investment platforms utilising the blockchain and, in 2023, led the industry response to the proposed virtual asset legislation now in force in Guernsey.
