Andrew Jowett
is a partner within Appleby’s BVI corporate and regulatory practice groups, with expertise in venture capital and private equity financing, fintech, crypto funds and other emerging technologies. He advises on fund formation, financial and money services licensing, fintech and blockchain start-ups, JVs, set-up and ongoing advice to the world’s largest crypto exchanges, DeFi platforms, stablecoin issuers, tokenisation of real-world assets and ICOs. Andrew has been consistently recognised across international legal rankings, and was recently praised for “commercial savvy, leadership and responsiveness” (Chambers Global 2021 – Band 1, Offshore: Global FinTech) and (Chambers Global FinTech 2022 to 2024: FinTech Legal – Band 1). Andrew also sits on the VASP Advisory Committee, a public/private forum established by the BVI Financial Services Commission which formalises the membership of a core group of persons from within the private sector with whom the Commission engages on virtual assets and matters related to virtual asset service providers.
