is a partner who specialises in tax law and serves as the head of the Amsterdam tax department. His practice focuses on advising clients on the tax aspects of real estate transactions, PPP, mergers and acquisitions, and other major transactions, including spin-offs, international restructurings and corporate joint ventures. Godfried also works with clients on issues related to corporate finance, and domestic and international taxation. He is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar, and is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers and the Dutch Tax Society. He regularly writes for various publications, including Tax Notes International and International Tax Review. His experience includes advising Facebook on one of its "talent acquisitions", the acquisition of the software design company Sofa, which was the first acquisition by Facebook in the Netherlands. He was admitted as an Exempt European Lawyer, England and Wales, in 2010 and is listed in the register of legal practice areas of the Dutch Bar Association for Belastingrecht (tax law).
