About John Pirie

John Pirie leads Baker McKenzie’s disputes group in Canada, and he is a member of the group’s North American steering committee. John is a Chambers-ranked trial lawyer acting for clients in complex business disputes. He is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a specialist in civil litigation. A significant focus of John’s practice is the defence of class actions. He has defended a variety of cases, including ones that allege competition violations and price-fixing, securities law violations, fraud and misrepresentation, and consumer/product complaints. John has acted for a range of multinational corporations, financial institutions, government entities, professional firms and members of the Canadian judiciary.
