About Ugur Can Hekim

Ugur Can Hekim is a senior associate at BLOMSTEIN, based at the firm’s Brussels office. He advises clients on EU and international trade law, EU sanctions, export controls and customs law. He represents industries across a wide range of sectors in anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard investigations before the European Commission, as well as in trade remedies proceedings in the UK, Canada and Türkiye. His practice also covers proceedings before the General Court of the European Union and WTO disputes. Uğur is a Certified Sanctions Specialist (ACSS) and regularly advises on EU sanctions compliance, licensing procedures and emerging EU regulatory frameworks, including the EUDR and the FLR. He has authored several articles and commentaries published in Global Trade and Customs Journal (2026) and Brill & Nijhoff (2024) and presented in SIEL global conferences (2023, 2025).
